Shanghai's corruption cases fall 14% in 5 years

Shanghai punished 253 corrupt officials in the past five years, including 14 bureau-level officials. The number was a 14 percent decrease from the previous five years, local prosecutors said today.
Meanwhile, Shanghai police captured 27 criminal fugitives, including five hiding in foreign countries.
However, there was a dramatic rise of 300 percent in food and drug-related crime cases in the past five years, the officials said.
