She picks pockets, lives the luxe life

A Guangdong Province woman who takes planes and stays in fancy hotels when she comes to Shanghai to steal from foreign women has been arrested and charged with theft by Luwan District Prosecutors.
Since 2007, the 43-year-old suspect surnamed Jin has gambled in her hometown on weekdays and flown to Shanghai over the weekends to pluck the purses and handbags of customers in big stores. She stays in luxury hotels every time and only picks foreign women as her prey.
"Foreign women are usually wealthy and less vigilant, especially those who walk alone," Jin said Jin.
She said she doesn't steal from men because they will fight her.
Jin's method was to steal in big stores on Huaihai Road because, she said, they are close to her hotels.
She lives a handsome lifestyle in her hometown in Guangdong Province by using the money she steals in Shanghai.
Jin was caught by police when she was picking a handbag on the first floor of a store on Huaihai Road this June. During the investigation, the police confirmed at least 14 thefts she committed during the past two years.
