Ship sinks after collision, killing 1 sailor

ONE sailor was killed and nine others were rescued after two vessels collided early this morning at the mouth of the Yangtze River, local maritime authority said.
The accident happened in the deep-water shipping channel of the river at about 6:40am. Ten sailors fell into water after one ship sank, maritime officials said.
Three maritime rescue boats rushed to the scene and pulled them from water by 9:15am, authority said. One sailor was found dead, officials said, adding that the salvage of the sunken ship has begun.
