Show your pics at Expo

SHANGHAI'S business community is collecting photographs of the city for an exhibition in the Shanghai Corporate Pavilion at the 2010 World Expo.

Some of the photos will be used in a seven-minute movie and other exhibitions in the pavilion.

The aim is to showcase Shanghai people and their daily lives, said Liu Heung Shing, a Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer and curator of the "The People's Archive" campaign.

Both professional and amateurs can submit images that capture the city of Shanghai, its people, businesses, way of life and culture to the pavilion's official Website (www.expo2010scp.com).

The organizers have come up with 10 themes for the photos.

This month they are looking for pictures which illustrate "favorite aspects of Shanghai, past or present." It could be a place, a person, a moment of the day or year, or an activity.

Some of the images will also be featured in stores and supermarkets, on city streets and as posters in residential areas and taxis before the World Expo starts next May.

Ten photographs each month will win Expo tickets, while 100 entrants each month will win a creative award of a Lomo camera.
