SOME 15 Shanghai communities have became the first local neighborhoods to gain access to a "Smart Community" network that will cover the whole city in about three years, officials and experts said yesterday. The smart network, which will bring more information and communication technologies to residents, includes various features such as home security systems, online medical services, real-time traffic information and GPS services on public buses.
