Spring flower show bursts out
THE spring flower show will start on Friday at the Shanghai Botanical Garden.
More than 3,000 breeds of flowers will be on display and ready to welcome the 2010 World Expo. Five large special exhibitions made up of flowers and other plants, are expected to be major attractions.
Most of the exhibitions will focus on Expo, such as the "the Home of Haibao," and "The Volunteers' Action." Some of the exhibitions will be replanted downtown in May.
The show will also display new techniques in cultivating soiless greenery. The techniques are expected to play an important role in the city's decorations for Expo, said a spokesman for the garden.
Other local parks, like the Guyi Garden in Jiading, and the Gongqing Forest Park in Yangpu, are also holding flower shows.
