Street swindlers held by police

THREE people have been caught by Songjiang District police in connection with alleged street swindles. Police said the gang had swindled several residents in Jinshan, Fengxian and Songjiang districts.
The suspects usually dropped wallets on streets hoping someone would pick them up. Last October, a woman surnamed Qin picked up a wallet in a street and was approached by the suspects who accused her of taking money from it. While she was distracted, her bank card was stolen. They also managed to obtain bank account details from her mobile phone.
