Strike paralyzes top courier firm
A MAJOR courier firm in China was forced to suspend delivery service between Shanghai and Beijing yesterday after its franchise outlets in Beijing suspended work to protest the firm's restructuring and nonpayment of dues.
TTK Express told its customers to try other rival agencies for deliveries between the two cities due to "adjustments" in its Beijing franchises, a staffer at the Hangzhou-based firm told Shanghai Daily yesterday.
"There will be some delays between Beijing and Shanghai, though it is not known how long it will last," the staffer said. She said services within Shanghai remained unaffected.
The Beijing stores suspended services on Wednesday after TTK failed to pay them a share of the profits and subsidies for over half a year.
