Summer camp for HK students to explore Shanghai museums

A summer camp was kicked off on Friday for Hong Hong university students to explore museums in Shanghai.

The camp, the fourth of its kind, attracted eight students from Hong Kong University, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Lingnan University and Hang Seng Management College.

From Friday to July 27, the students will take internships in the Qian Xuesen Library and Museum, Soong Ching Ling Memorial Residence, Shanghai Film Museum, Liu Haisu Art Museum and other museums in Shanghai. By participating in exhibition planning, tour guiding and other on-site services, they are expected to understand operation of the cultural facilities deeply.

They will also visit museums and historic relics in other cities, such as Datong and Taiyuan of Shanxi Province.

At the end of the event, students will cooperate to organize small exhibitions at local museums by themselves.

Initiated in 2014 by Shanghai Jiao Tong University to help young people in Hong Kong to learn Chinese history and culture, the annual summer camper has attracted more than 32 students.
