Sunshine enters shopping mall to help troubled youths
SHANGHAI Sunshine Community Youth Affairs Center, a major volunteer organization in the city, opened a service station in a shopping mall on Longhua Road today -- the first such in the country.
Unemployed youths and school dropouts can go to the station for help, officials said. The 53-square-meter station consists of a reception room and private booths for psychological consulting.
In the past, the Youth Affairs Center tended to provide help in neighborhood committee offices across the city. But many young people don't like to go to the neighborhood committee for help to protect their privacy. Opening a service station in a shopping mall may encourage them to come for help.
