Suspect nabbed after woman's body found under bridge

SHANGHAI police yesterday detained a suspect who was believed to have killed a 31-year-old woman and dumped her body in a local river.
The 39-year-old man was a colleague of the woman who probably had an extramarital affair with him, police said.
Their co-workers said the victim was single and the pair had maintained a close relationship although the man is married.
The woman's body was found on Friday by cleaners under a bridge in Minhang District.
A witness surnamed Qin said he saw a group of people gathering at the bridge near the intersection of Tianlin Road W. and Hechuan Road on Friday morning. As he got close, he saw a female body with wounds around her neck and blood from her nose.
Police did not reveal when and how the woman was killed and they are still looking for clues to the cause of her murder.
