Tai tai accused of biting off neighbor's finger
A EUROPEAN woman has been accused of biting off her neighbor's fingertip when she tried to mediate a dispute with security guards in her compound, said Shanghai entry-exit administration today.
The woman, whose name and nationality was not released, has been given bail while police investigate the case.
The quarrel began at a complex on Wuyuan Road, Xujiahui District, on November 30 when the expat woman and her husband blamed the security guards for pushing her son when they weren't around, officials said.
The guards allegedly pointed out they were trying to stop him riding his bike during rush hour for his own safety. A neighbor surnamed Zhao tried to stop the fight, adding that her reaction was excessive.
Officials alleged the woman then hit Zhao and bit one of her fingertips off. They did not say what happened to the victim.
