'Tale of Three Cities' opens nationwide tomorrow
"Tale of Three Cities," a touching war romance based on the real story of Jackie Chan's parents, will hit screens in cinemas nationwide tomorrow.
The film set during the turbulent war period tells a legendary love story of two widowed people who travel to Huizhou in Anhui Province, Shanghai and eventually Hong Kong in pursuit of true love.
Directed by Mabel Cheung, the film stars Hong Kong actor Sean Lau and mainland actresses Tang Wei and Qin Hailu.
Cheung is known for her migration-themed films including ?An Autumn's Tale" and "Eight Taels of Gold." She says some of the film's scenes have been shot in Shanghai’s alleys.
Lead actress Tang says she was impressed by the script and the strength of love among ordinary people.
