Tantrum earns woman three-year jail term
A WOMAN'S bad temper earned her a three-year prison sentence, with a reprieve of four years if she behaves well, for endangering public security, Labor Daily reported today.
The trouble started when the woman, surnamed Huang, went out for a midnight snack one night with her boyfriend, Songjiang District People's Court heard.
But she got into an argument with another woman named Xu over a particular dish, climbed into her car and drove it straight at the other woman, the report said.
Xu escaped but Huang smashed the car into neighboring stalls, breaking a waitress's leg and damaging several tables and chairs.
Huang told police her car had been in an accident, but after investigation police decided that her actions had endangered public security.
She paid compensation to her victims and freely admitted her crime.
