Task group formed to deal with fire tragedy

SHANGHAI government has formed a special task group early this morning to deal with the aftermath of yesterday's deadly fire that killed at least 53 people in a downtown apartment building.
Mayor Han Zheng is heading the group. The CPC Shanghai Committee Deputy Secretary Yin Yicui, Vice Mayors Hu Yanzhao and Shen Jun, Shanghai Public Security Bureau Director Zhang Xuebing, and Shanghai Municipal Government General Office Director Jiang Ping are deputy directors of the task group.
The fire gutted the 28-story apartment building at 728, Jiaozhou Road in Jing'an District after it started at 2:15pm yesterday and quickly engulfed the whole building. By 9:25am this morning, 53 people have been confirmed dead.
