Tasty event takes to the waterfront
OFFICE workers in the city's Lujiazui financial zone has got a chance to dine cheaply for the next week with the "Bite of Lujiazui" event along the Huangpu River.
The Lujiazui management committee has set up 400 seats along the north waterfront area and invited catering companies to offer meals for lunch and dinner.
The committee is also distributing 10,000 coupons offering 30 percent discounts to office workers in the area.
It has also launched shuttle bus service to transport people from office buildings including Jin Mao Tower and Shanghai World Financial Center to the riverside area.
Food will be served from 11am to 9:30pm every day until October 26 and is open to everyone. Apart from local cuisine, Taiwanese food and snacks from other provinces and cities will be available.
A meal will cost no more than 25 yuan (US$4), officials said, adding that food authorities will be invited to the site to ensure food safety.
