Teacher suspended for pushing boy

A PRIMARY school teacher has been suspended after pushing a 10-year-old student, who fell and broke his front tooth and suffered bruises on his reproductive organ.

The boy's parents demanded that Rixin Primary School in Minhang District sack music teacher Ju Minghua after the October 20 incident.

A netizen "xiangyuparis," claiming to be a friend of the boy's family, said Ju threw the boy to the ground because he spoke in class without permission.

Rixin officials, however, claimed Ju never intended to harm the boy. They said he was acting up in class.

Ju pushed the boy to make him sit properly, which caused him to fall and break his front tooth and bruise his reproductive organ.

Ju went to the boy's house to apologize but the parents declined to accept it.

The Minhang District Education Bureau is now investigating the case. It ordered Ju to pay the boy's medical bill, but said the teacher would probably not be fired.

Bureau officials also plan to meet the student's parents.
