THE escape window is located on the left-hand side of the bus near the front.
One window (upper left), nearly twice as large as the others, is opened by pushing outwards. While allowing more room to escape, it could damage vehicles or injure cyclists if opened at the wrong time.
Two other window designs - one that opens vertically (upper right) and another sideways - allow for one passenger to escape at a time.
Some people said the vertical-lifted window was difficult to lift.
