Time runs out after 10 years
A WOMAN from an East Asian country, wanted by police in her nation on swindling charges, has been taken into custody for illegally staying on Chinese mainland for about 10 years, the city's exit-entry authority said yesterday.
She will be deported after further investigations. The administration didn't reveal her name and nationality but said she had entered Shenyang City, Liaoning Province, in 1999, leaving large debts in her home country.
In Shenyang, she opened garment shops and raised children farmed out to her by foreign couples, but ran up debts of several thousand yuan.
Last year, she headed for Shanghai to escape creditors.
