Tour bus driver arrested over deadly crash

A tour bus driver was arrested today on suspicion of causing a fatal crash earlier this month in Shanghai, prosecutors in Hongkou District said.
The driver, surnamed Zhao, reportedly leaned forward to pick up his cellphone and lost control of the bus just before the crash happened. Six people were killed and 43 others injured when the bus overturned.
According to prosecutors, the bus, heading to Shengsi County, Zhejiang Province, deviated from its lane and hit the shoulder of Donghai Avenue when Zhao bent down to pick up his cellphone. To correct his mistake Zhao turned left quickly, causing the bus to overturn.
Zhao was hospitalized after the accident and later transferred to a hospital controlled by police. He was arrested on the charge of causing traffic casualties.
