Train ticket sales suspended as typhoon draws near

THE Shanghai Railway Bureau will stop selling tomorrow and Saturday's train tickets to costal areas in southeast China as two storms, Saola and Damrey, are expected to arrive.

Sale of tickets of trains passing, departing from and heading to the costal areas in southeast China will be temporarily stopped. The railway bureau will notify the public once the tickets are available again.

Meanwhile, flights to Taiwan will be canceled or delayed due to the approach of the two storms, which will arrive in China almost at the same time.

Typhoon Saola is expected to sweep north of Taiwan today and land in north Fujian Province or in the middle of Zhejiang Province tomorrow. Damrey, which is moving very fast, is estimated to land early this afternoon.
