Truck hits moped with 5 riders, leaving 2 dead

A woman and her infant baby were killed and three others were injured when their overloaded electric moped was hit by a construction truck this morning at the crossroad of Bao'an Road and Jusheng Road.
The woman's husband, their daughter and nephew were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment and are now in stable condition, police said.
The woman and the infant she held in her arms died on the scene after the truck knocked down their moped and ran over them, witnesses said.
The accident occurred at 9:15am when the truck running along Jusheng Road hit the moped just as it was turning to Bao'an Road. The woman and her baby were crushed under the wheels, leaving a long trace of blood on the road.
