THE US Consulate in Shanghai will be expanded next year as visa applications rise, consulate officials announced yesterday.
Meanwhile, the US consulates in China are developing online services, which allow people to make appointments and payments online. The online system is expected to open by next summer, which will simplify the visa application process. The number of visas processed by US consulates in China last year rose 34 percent over the previous year, visa officials said.
