University VP investigated

THE vice president of Shanghai Ocean University is under investigation on suspicion of serious violations of laws and Party discipline, the city’s disciplinary watchdog announced yesterday. The CPC Shanghai Commission for Discipline Inspection did not elaborate.
Li Yanchen, 53, has been in his current role since October 2014, and is responsible for logistics, security, infrastructure, university-run enterprises and the daily management of ships for ocean fishery resources research.
Li graduated from Shanghai Railway University with a bachelor’s degree in engineering in 1988 and obtained a master’s degree in public administration from Tongji University in 2006.
