University pays its respects

FUDAN University students yesterday mourned Zhang Ninghai, offering their own tribute by creating a heart-shaped display of flowers and candles on the campus.
Almost 2,000 students attended the mourning event, officials said.
Students also launched an online memorial hall and the university has sent a letter of sympathy to Zhang's family.
According to media reports, the process has begun for Zhang to be recognized as a martyr - an official honor bestowed on people who sacrificed their lives for others.
Fudan University officials said they will improve outdoor survival skills education for its clubs.
