A Chinese tourist who put a coral online that she had picked up while diving in Maldives has been criticized as experts said such practice destroyed the marine ecological system.
The Youth Daily reported that it was not unusual for tourists to come back with corals.
Dai Xiaojie, a professor at the Shanghai Ocean University, said certain kinds of corals are protected and taking them away threatens the eco-system.
