POLICE in the Pudong New Area have launched a campaign to crack down on the illegal operation of pedicabs and motorcycles, officials said yesterday. The aim is to remove all the electric pedicabs, tricycles for the disabled, motorcycles and scooters in Lujiazui, Sanlin and Huamu areas from major roads of the district. In a recent crackdown, more than 180 people were punished for illegal operations, police said. Meanwhile, police also confiscated 50 unlicensed pedicabs and 20 refitted ones.
