Vocal Asia Festival opens tomorrow
The Vocal Asia Festival will raise its curtain tomorrow.
Artists scheduled to perform include the American group Naturally 7, American music producer Deke Sharon and Japanese vocalist Kaichiro Kitamura.
Sharon, a famous music director and founder of Contemporary A Cappella Society, will be one of the instructors. He said a cappella has the power to connect people from different countries and cultural backgrounds.
"It is an art for everybody," Sharon said. "When people sing together on the stage they understand each other and become friends."
The artists will perform a cappella versions of popular songs and host workshops, public lectures, master classes and children's trial lessons.
The goal is to promote a cappella, which is singing without the support of musical instruments.
The festival will run until Sunday. Ten Asian a cappella groups will also compete in a contest during the festival.
