Volunteers handle pavilion bookings

RESERVATION tickets for the China Pavilion will be distributed manually by 80 groups of volunteers at each entrance of the World Expo site tomorrow, say the organizers.

Free maps to the Expo site will also be given to visitors at each entrance and at the 56 service stations.

The new distribution method is meant to make it easier for visitors to reserve tickets and save time in queuing for reservation machines. Machines at the Expo site will remain in service.

Many visitors complained on the first day of the event's test operation that they had to line up for more than one hour simply for a reservation ticket, and then had to queue to enter the China Pavilion.

Also, a sudden breakdown of the machines on Tuesday made things even worse and the organizers had to later distribute the tickets.

More pavilions will open to visitors tomorrow including Japan (from 9:30am to 7:30pm), Spain, Netherlands, Finland (from 10am to 4pm), Turkey (from 8am to 8pm), Hungary, Iceland, France, Colombia (from 10am to 2pm) and others.
