Wedding company embezzles client deposits

HUANGPU District authorities are investigating a wedding company after its Japanese owners fled with all the money, including deposits by 55 young couples.
One Japanese manager of Blunebold Iuno, which is located at the SML Center, has been detained by police. The embezzled money was estimated at nearly 10 million yuan. Each couple has paid 40,000 yuan (US$6,451) to 150,000 yuan in deposit.
The wedding company allegedly deleted all the information of its clients from computers and took away their contracts without informing them.
The SML Center management posted a notice to the company's clients, urging them to alert the police. It also revealed that the wedding company owed it 1.8 million yuan in property management fee.
