Winners failing to claim prizes

THERE have been more than 60 winners of diamond jewelry at the Belgium Pavilion in its lucky draws so far, but 15 winners haven't claimed their prizes.

"Some are not Shanghai locals and some just don't believe us when we called and told them they won," says Zhou Bin, an official of the pavilion.

"We haven't decided what to do. Express delivery has some risk. We're still working on that now."

The Belgian Beer Cafe at the Belgium Pavilion has launched a new diamond lucky draw. The first winners chosen yesterday won a set of jewelry worth 4,999 yuan (US$731).

The new weekly lucky draw is open to guests who dine in the pavilion's cafe.

Diners who spend more than 100 yuan in the Belgian Beer Cafe and answer questions about Belgium correctly will be eligible to enter the draw.

All the vouchers with the diners' contact information will be put into seven boxes designated for the seven days of a week and kept in a locker. Seven winners will be chosen every Friday.
