Woman arrested for knifing husband

A WOMAN was arrested over the weekend for allegedly stabbing her abusive husband in the stomach. Minhang District prosecutors charged Xu Qun, 24, a Henan Province native, with assault.
Xu's husband, Ruan Gong, is still in hospital.
Xu met Ruan, a Shaanxi Province native, in 2005 at the company where she worked. The two began a relationship, but Ruan was jailed a few weeks later for possession of drugs.
The pair resumed their relationship when Ruan was released last June and they married in September.
Xu says she suffered domestic abuse after they were married.
On January 25, the coupled had a dispute and Xu says Ruan beat her up and threw her belongings into the street. Xu then allegedly stabbed Ruan in the abdomen with a knife.
Their landlord stopped the fight. Ruan was taken to hospital with wounds to the stomach and intestines.
Xu surrendered to police.
