Woman, child hurt in explosion

A WOMAN and a child were injured in a gas explosion in an old house in Yangpu District yesterday morning, Xinmin Evening News reported.
Police said the 27-year-old woman surnamed Lin was about to have a shower when the water heater triggered the explosion around 7am.Lin suffered burns over 45 percent of her body and was rushed to a hospital. She was listed as stable yesterday. The blast destroyed Lin's bathroom and hurt a 10-year-old child in the lane, who was also sent to the hospital.
