Woman falls to death from high-rise flat

A middle-aged woman died this morning after allegedly falling from a 31st-floor apartment in a residential complex in Hongkou District, police said.
The unidentified woman was found sprawled on the lawn of Hongye Mingyuan complex at 981 Zhoujiazui Road, at about 6:30am.
She was pronounced dead after an ambulance arrived at the spot.
The woman was believed to be a resident in the building as she wore a pair of cotton slippers, witnesses said.
Police has ruled out the possibility of homicide, but the woman's identification and the cause of her fall are still under investigation.
