Woman killed in bed in Hongkou District

A middle-aged woman was killed early this morning in her rented room in a shabby lane house in Hongkou District, police said.
The woman, surnamed Shu, was found dead at about 10:15am by her brother and a neighbor, surnamed Wang, who lived above Shu's room at 553 Tiantong'an Road.
Hongkou police said they got the call at 10:20am and soon cordened off the place. The case was still under investigation.
"She was dead in bed with blood all over her chest," said Wang, a middle-aged resident.
Shu, in her 40s and from Hubei Province, was allegedly a prositute in that area and always took strange men home, neighbors said.
