Woman kills lover before husband leaves jail

A WOMAN allegedly killed her lover the morning before her husband was due to be freed from prison to hide her affair, according to Jiading District police.

He Xiaohuan, a 22-year-old worker in a local hotpot restaurant, has been arrested, today's Shanghai Morning Post reported.

She became a major suspect after the badly decomposed body of her colleague Shen Cheng was discovered in roadside shrubbery on June 24 by road cleaners. He, who was said to be on close terms with Shen, quit her job shortly after Shen went missing.

She was allegedly forced to kill Shen because he had threatened to disclose their relationship to her husband and break up their marriage, according to police.

He invited Shen to dinner at her home on June 18. When Shen was drunk, He suggested playing a game of death with Shen. She tied Shen to the bed and then squeezed his throat until he died.

She then allegedly asked her husband's brother Su Lin to help her transport Shen's body and dump it in bushes.

Afterwards, He and Su went to jail to pick up He's husband. Su was also arrested.
