Woman saved after falling down Metro platform
A woman fell onto the tracks of Metro Line 3 around 8:50am today, causing all trains on the line to run at a slow speed for nearly 18 minutes.
The woman in her 60s was immediately sent to hospital for treatment. It is not yet known whether she fell off the platform by accident or jumped down in a suicide attempt, the Metro operator said.
The train stopped suddenly as it pulled into the Zhanghuabang Station.
Intervals were extended and trains were running at a limited speed for about 18 minutes after the accident.
The operation returned to normal around 9:08am.
