Woman severely wounded in knife attack by ex-husband

A MAN stabbed his ex-wife and severely wounded her in a community along Yongtai Road in the Pudong New Area at about 4:30pm yesterday afternoon, according to police.

The couple had a disagreement on the division of property after divorce, the victim's relatives told Xinmin.cn.

Witnesses said the suspect forced his ex-wife to the ground and stabbed her with a knife.

She sustained serious injuries on her hand, back and head, but her vital signs were stable, the report said.

The man tried to escape but was caught by the security guard in the community. The guard bandaged the woman and called police.

The victim was sent to nearby hospital and the scene was cordoned off.
