Women rescued in Suzhou Creek

An older woman and her daughter jumped into Suzhou Creek and were rescued by three passers-by on Monday, Xinmin Evening News reported yesterday.
Witnesses said the woman, 67, and her daughter, 47, were seen floating in the river near Guangfu Road and did not respond to shouts. Two men saw this and jumped into the river to save them while another man called police for help, the report said.
The two men used wires and pulled them to shore. Both women were crying, with one saying, "don't save me," witnesses told Xinmin Evening News.
The report said the women were taken to hospital and that their lives were not in danger.
