Year of Rabbit stamps available tomorrow

A set of Year-of-the-Rabbit stamps will hit the market tomorrow and stamp collectors can buy them at any of the city's 79 post offices, Shanghai Post Company said today.

The stamps to celebrate the arrival of lunar New Year which falls on February 3 depict a cartoon rabbit against the backdrop of a full moon. Each stamp has a par value of 1.20 yuan (18 US cents).

But the zodiac stamps will be issued in limited edition and people are advised to queue up early in post offices which open at 6:30am.

China Post has offered zodiac stamps annually since 1980. Previous zodiac stamps have all appreciated in value. A 1980 monkey stamp, for example, is now worth 5,100 yuan, compared with 0.08 yuan more than 30 years ago.
