Colorado and Shanghai universities team up in energy research
UNIVERSITY of Colorado and East China Normal University launched a joint Research Institute for New Energy and Environment today.
The institute will carry out researches on solar cells, new energy materials and low-carbon technology, ECNU said.
Meanwhile, it will monitor the Earth's atmospheric environment and ecosystem using remote sensing technology and geographic information system.
University of Colorado officials said that commercialization is important to research findings and they chose China because of its big market.
Though the two countries have differences over intellectual property rights, the two universities have developed a framework to share research findings.
