DRAMA courses will be included as part of the extra curriculum at eight local high schools starting from September in a pilot program to cultivate artistic talent, the Shanghai Education Commission said. The pilot program is inspired by a summer camp held by the Shanghai Theatre Academy last year which found that students who had not been trained in acting performed very well when appearing in self-directed dramas.
