Fengxian students to go abroad

FENGXIAN District will sponsor about 500 local school students to go abroad for international culture exchanges, the education bureau said yesterday.
They will travel to America, Russia, Australia, Germany and other countries, visit local schools and join their classes, participate in cultural activities, carry out investigative programs and write reports to enrich their life experiences and improve their international communication skills.
“We hope this program can provide a window for them to reach the outside world,” said Shi Wenlong, the education bureau director.
The bureau will cover a third of the costs, with the rest shared by schools, social sponsors and families. It has already selected 476 from 18 schools for this year’s program that is aimed at becoming an annual event.
