Parents want homework overhaul
MANY parents are calling for changes to summer homework programs as "ghostwriters" prosper from writing essays and doing math for other students.
City schools usually arrange piles of papers for students to write during the summer as they pursue high marks under the current examination system.
Many students have reportedly copied others' homework or even referred to college students or parents to write essays or do mathematics for them.
Wu Shiyun, a fifth grader, said: "The homework is dull and teachers will barely dart a glimpse at our papers when next semester begins."
Many parents agree that the system needs to change.
