PhD students get an increase

PHD students are to receive increased monthly subsidies for their daily necessities and to encourage their research work.
Shanghai Jiao Tong University increased the subsidies by about 700 yuan (US$102), school officials said yesterday. Shanghai University of Finance and Economics will award PhD students an annual 19,200 yuan to 24,000 yuan from this year.
