Pressure, pace tough for Lujiazui workers
HIGH pressure and fast-paced work in the seemingly dazzling Lujiazui Financial Zone are making white collars blue, a new survey suggests.
The 750-plus workers interviewed gave out 40.2 points out of 100 when asked about the pace and pressure of work.
But in general, the Lujiazui workers scored their general happiness index at 80.8 points.
"White-collar workers are generally satisfied with the city's environment and social security," said Nan Jun, deputy general manager of Oracle Bay, a financial training center that conducted the survey.
"But supporting activities and services to relieve white collars' pressure needs to be improved."
Those interviewed graded their firms' employee assistance programs, a service to help with personal and psychological problems, at 56.3 points.
As to the match-making parties and services to widen their circle of friends in the financial zone, they gave 60.6 points.
