Pupils Show They've Got A Lot Of Bottle
LOCAL school pupils created a new Guinness World Record for recycling the most plastic bottles in eight hours.
Students from 121 primary schools recycled 401,794 plastic bottles, weighing 8,799.9 kilograms, breaking the record set by Florida State University students who recycled 46,357 bottles, weighing 2,467.54kg.
Angela Wu, records manager of Guinness World Records, witnessed the attempt and issued the certificate in the city yesterday. It is part of a campaign encouraging students to protect water resources.
