THE Shanghai Education Commission yesterday turned down an application for a home-education license by Meng Mu Tang, an unlicensed privately run school that follows traditional Chinese teaching methods.
The commission said the school was carrying out unlicensed education practices. Education authorities have ordered the school to shut down. However, the school may apply for a public hearing within three days.
