ATP tennis tickets go on sale
TENNIS fans now can purchase tickets to this year's Shanghai Rolex Masters, Asia's only ATP Masters 1000 tournament, to be staged October 8-16.
Tickets can be obtained in three ways: People can book online, by phone (962123), or by going to one of the three ticket offices in the city – at Jiushi Tower on Zhongshan Road S., at the Super Brand Mall in the Pudong New Area and the Grand Gateway in Xujiahui.
Two websites are set up for online booking: www.shanghairolexmasters.com and www.jusstickets.com.
Tickets will be delivered to homes if people book online or through the hotline.
This year, the organizing committee is offering lower-price tickets for the last three days of matches - the quarterfinals, semifinals and final, hoping more people can have the chance to walk into the magnolia-roofed Qizhong Stadium in Minhang District.
The cheapest tickets to the quarterfinals are 280 yuan, while the least-expensive semifinal and final tickets are priced at 480 yuan. Series tickets are 4,500 yuan.
Shanghai hosted the first edition of this tournament in 2009. Both that inaugural event and the 2010 tournament were named ATP Masters 1000 tournament of the year.
A total of 56 players will compete in singles matches in October, with the top 45 in the ATP rankings qualifying for the Masters automatically.
The top 20 in the ATP rankings usually are required to play in Shanghai.
