'Avatar' set to run through Spring Festival
JAMES Cameron's epic movie "Avatar" is expected to be screened for at least another two months in Shangahi to meet demand, a cinema official revealed today.
"As it's such a smash hit, other films including 'Sherlock Holmes' will shift their schedules to make way for 'Avatar' during the Spring Festival, a traditional peak season for theatres," said Wu Hehu, deputy general manager of Shanghai United Circuit.
"Sherlock Holmes" was due to be aired tomorrow.
"Avatar" is also screened in 3-D IMAX in Suzhou, and Wu suggested residents head to the neighboring city because screenings are fully booked at Shanghai's only IMAX screen at the Peace Cinema.
